After completing an MFA in painting from CalArts in 1989, Jeff Burton immediately began his photographic career working as a set photographer for Los Angeles’ adult film culture. Combining lush painterly hues with the formal elements of traditional still life and portraiture. Burton developed a fresh perspective on Hollywood celluloid, its margins, and the American palette. He earned immediate praise from art world dignitaries and photographic editors worldwide.

 

His work has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, the Barbican Centre in London, and many other National and International Museums. His primary gallery, Casey Kaplan- New York, has exhibited 5 solo shows since 1995.His work is also represented at Sadie Coles HQ -London, Galleria Franco Noero -Torino, and Taka Iishi Gallery -Tokyo.

 

Burton has collaborated with Tom Ford on his first campaign as well as Yves Saint Laurent, Kris Van Assche. Burton has recently contributed to French Vogue, Vogue Hommes International, Domus, Arena Homme +, Vanity Fair and Fantastic Man.
